**pulled this up from a couple of years ago...how much has changed, and how much hasn't. **
Spring 2020 has been nothing short of twilight zone-type weirdness. If there is a silver-lining (and we have to look pretty hard to find it) it's that HEALTH has been front and center on the minds of everyone, everywhere. I am beyond thankful that I have the tools in my home to feel prepared for whatever comes around the next corner. My family focuses on our health through nutrition and a nontoxic lifestyle on a daily basis. When needed, we support our bodies with natural solutions like herbs and essential oils.
Honestly, as much as I believe in the capability of the human body to handle scary things and the unbelievable way that God has put everything together, there were a couple of weeks when the lockdowns first started and things started screeching to a halt that I questioned whether this situation was different. So I hunkered down. I watched all the experts with all their theories. And I searched for clear information, trying to make sense of what I was seeing and hearing. And I started to get really frustrated. With them. With myself.
The reason I chose to pursue holistic approaches to my family's health has been on stark display through this global crisis: the blanket philosophy of the conventional medical world that our bodies can't be trusted to function properly and pharmaceuticals are the only solution... and the arrogance that usually comes along with these prescriptions and proclamations. Yet, while the world frantically wrings its collective hands the crunchy friends are still saying what they have always said: eat good food, supplement to bridge the gaps, eliminate toxins, rest, exercise, and get fresh air.
What's good for you before a pandemic is still good for you during and after a pandemic.
When you support your body consistently, it's more prepared to take on these additional threats. It is. Data on comorbidities relating to severity of illness reflects this truth. But the talk is all about a pharmaceutical product, who has the patent, how long this is going to take, and what this is all going to cost. If there was ever evidence that we have not learned to take good care of our bodies, it's the constant stream of programming coming from every direction making us feel like there's nothing we can do but wait to get sick, and our only hope is something that comes in a syringe.
Why?
Lack of information?
Pursuit of profit?
Hidden agendas?
So, friend, now is the time. There IS something you can do. Ask yourself what reasons there might be for creating an atmosphere of fear and dependence. Don't walk blindly down the easy road. I'm leaning into what I know with fresh determination and I fully anticipate some new friends joining me on the journey, eyes wide open.
