Picky Eaters Tip 4

NO MATTER HOW GREAT you are at providing top-quality nutrition and modeling proper food behaviors, kids are still going to resist certain offerings. They will rush through meals to go play more, they will go for weeks at a time eating like little birds before spending the next two weeks eating everything in sight. (Hello, growth spurt! I’m experiencing this all over again with my teens.) Then, there will be those early evening soccer practices or basketball games that require dinner to be scarfed down on the run, and it’s burgers and fries or it’s not happening. This is life. Because sometimes things won’t go perfectly, I always recommend nutritional supplementation with a quality product. For kiddos, you’ll want a good, food-based multi-vitamin, a properly-sourced Omega 3 supplement, and a Probiotic. doTERRA’s kids line of supplements is easy for kids to take (a chewable tablet, a liquid, and a pixie-stick-like packet that tastes like watermelon) and provides them with the nutrients they might not be getting from their meals. Those supplements are recommended ages 4+, and my kids started with half doses of the adult supplements around age 10, because they could swallow a capsule no problem. You can’t out-supplement a terrible diet, but while you’re doing the best you can, supplements can help you feel more confident that your kids (and you too!) are getting the nutrition they need for the crazy, running around, late to everything, just hurry up and eat so we can go, lifestyle.
